Electron Bernstein waves were found to propagate over a wide (ray) range ofdirections with respect to a localized launcher, although the wave propagationis directed nearly perpendicular to the magnetic field. The observed wave frontsof the electron Bernstein waves were in accord with the theoretical wave frontsin which the effect of the magnetic field of the earth was included. The theoreticalray velocity surfaces of the electron Bernstein waves were confirmed experimentallyand theoretically.
