A new emission from the surface of Kl crystal has bccen found under theirradiation of a N. laser light. This emission band is centered at 420 nm andits half width about 0.09 eV. It is observable only in the crystal whose surface hasbeen exposed to air. Since this condition is similar to that fotmd in the formationof V. center and the excitation spectrum of this omission band resembles to theabsorption spectrum of V. center, we propose that V. center existing in the crystalsurface is responsible for this omission band.
