The Knight shift (A.g) and the spin-lattice relaxation time T, of protons havebeen measured in vanadium-hydrogen alloys (VH,) with hydrogen concentrationx=O.04'2. -0.736, at temperatures between 100' and 200'C. The resolution offl ppm in the shift was attained by using a high-resolution spectrometer, andthe effect of demagnetizing field was isolated by using a single sheet of foil as aspecimen. This allowed the simultaneous determnination of K,. and the bulk nag-netic susceptibility. Kg nteasured relative to bare protons was found to be negativeand change little with hydrogen concentration. No temperature dependence ofthe shift was observed, even across the phase transition. These results are inter-preted in terms of' a contact interaction with the uniform spin-polarization in theinterstitjal region and some additional contributions from H-induced states. Anevidence for the electron-electron interaction in VH. is derived from comparisonof K. and Tz
