Translational friction coefficient and intrinsic viscosity of rigid cylindrical macromolecules are calculated by the method of Edwards and Oliver and its extension to intrinsic viscosity. The results are in agreement with previous investigations asymptotically for large L/α(L is the length of the axis, α is the radius, of the cylinder). The origin of the discrepancy found in a numerical constant is discussed.
