Excitation curves were measured for the ^23<N>a(P, α_0)^20<N>e reaction in the proton energy range of 2.2-4.5MeV at θ_<lab> = 135° and also 2.8-4.5MeV at θ_<lab> = 90°. The yield of gamma rays accompanying the ^23<N>a(P, α_1)^20<N>e and ^23<N>a(P, P_1)^28<N>a reactions was measured in the energy ranges of 2.48-2.80MeV and of 3.56-4.50MeV. Thirteen angular distributions for the α_0 group were obtained in the range of 2.27-3.63MeV. Most of these distributions are asymmetric about 90° (c.m.). The angular distributions in the range of 2.27-4.45MeV were analysed in terms of the Legendre polynomial. Four resonances were found at 2.29, 2.31, 2.42 and 2.44MeV, and the last two resonances were analysed to be 4+ and 1- respectively. The excitation curves in the range of 2.76-4.50MeV were analysed by the fluctuation theory, and the coherence width for the compound nucleus was found to be about 50keV.
