Nuclear Magnetic Resonance of Sb^<121> and Sb^<123> in Ferromagnetic Compound MnNiSb

The nuclear magnetic resonance of Sb^<121> and Sb^<128> in a ferromagnetic compound MnNiSb have been observed in zero external field. This brief note presents results for the temperature and the external field dependeces of resonance absorption. The sample was a well-annealed and fine powder, of which the crystal structure was CaF_2-type and the Curie point was 750°K. The resonance lines were detected using a frequency-modulated marginal oscillator. The resonance lines of Sb^<121> and Sb^<128> were observed at about 152 Mc and 281 Mc, respectively, at room temperature. The intensities and thes hapes of these lines are distinctly different from each other, that is, the shape of Sb^<121> is an intensive and sharp dispersion type, and that of Sb^<123> is a deformed weak absorption type, in low power rf-field. The temperature variation of resonance frequency ν(T) was observed over the range from room temperature to liquid nitrogen temperature. ν(T) could be entirely fitted to T^<3/2>-law or the spin wave approximation in the low temperature range and to T^2-law or the collective electron model in the high temperature range. The zero temperature exterpolated values ν(0) are 299.24 Mc for Sb^<121> and 162.07 Mc for Sb^<123>, and the corresponding internal field H_i(0) of them is 293.66 Koe. The temperature variation of H_i normalized by the zero temperature value H_i (0) is illustrated in Fig. 1. On the other hand, the bulk magnetization of the sample was measured independently with the use of a magnetic balance, and M(T)/M(0) is also shown in the same figure.
