Several new activities in the rare earth region were identified and also the decay characteristics of seine previously reported activities in this region were studied more in detail. They were produced by the (γ, p) reactions and measurement was made with the aid of the scintillation spectronieters. Results were as follows: nucleides half-lives beta rays gamma rays Eu^<159> 19.0 ±1.0 min 2.2 10.1 MeV (45, 170 keV) Tm^<173> 7.3±0.5h 0.90±0.05 MeV 400, 470 keV Tm^<175> 20 min 2.0 MeV 510 keV Lu^<178> 30 ± 5 min 2.25±0.05 MeV none Lu^<178> 16 min 1.50±0.05 MeV 60, 90, 215, 325, 425 keV 7.5±0.5 ± 1.35±0.05 MeV 90, 215 keV Analyses were made with the aid of the unified model.
