Utilizing state-independent pro.jection operators, xve present a new optical conductivity fortnulafor cyclotron transition in the systeuta of electrons interacting anisotropically xvith phonons. Theline-shape f'actor appearing in the condvxctivity tensor contains the rnany body effects for electronsand phonons. Applying this fortrxtrla, we deterrtaine the two def'orzanation potentials (dilationpotential Ect and trniaxial slaear potential ,l".,) of' Ge in the qtrantturrr linait. By fitting the presenttheoretical values with the experitaaental data of lVIurase, Enjotn.ji and Otsuka [J, Phys. Soc. Jpn.29 (1970) 1248] and Kobori, Ohyaraaa and Otsuka [J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. 59 (1990) 21414, we obtain,=. : 17.0 i 0.6 eV and E.7 : -10.88 f 0.47 eV.
