Magnetic Structure of Random Magnetic Mixtures with Competing Anisotropy-CsMn_<1-x>Co_xCl_3・2H_2O

Magnetic structttres and t>hase transitions of' CSIVIIII ..CO.,C13-2H2O, a t.vr>ical substance ofrandom rmagnetic rtaixtures with competing rnagnetic anisotropy, are investigated theoreticallyby assuming a simplified model: classical 2-D X -Y naodel with tlae single-ion type anisotropy.The tmagnetic susceptibility for e?xch easy axis and tl?e therraaal average of' each spin are cat-ctrlated by lVIonte-Carlo simulation. It results that tlte cl'uaracteristic feattrres of' the phase di-agram are reprodttced, that is, besides the Cs1VInCla-2HrO-t5zpe anti['errotaaagnetic phase andthe CsCoC13-21130-type one, an interrnediate phase exists in between the txvo plaases. In theinterraaediate region, two successive phase tr;xnsitions occvrr with increasing tetaaperattrre. It isfotrnd that the spin structure of the interutaediate phase has two perpendicttlttr ;tntiferrornagneticdonuains linked by doznain walls. This restmlt is consistent xvith the NIVIR experiments.
