Numerical Study of Elastic Effects by Cubic-Tetragonal Symmetry Breaking on the Ordering Kinetics

Blastic effects by cubic-tetragonal synarnetry breaking on the ordering kinetics are investigated.We propose a coarse-grained naodel characterized by a Ginzburg-Landau free energy with non-conserved order pararneters coupled to an elastic field. By numerical sttrdy we obtain an ovalshaped domain and a square donaain in two dimensions and a plate-like domain and a rod-likedornain in three dirnensions. And in the coarsening process, a striped pattern is obtained. Thesepatterns are remarkably similar to morphologies observed in real ctnbic-tetragonal order-disorderalloys. Moreover, xve study the dynatnics during the coarsening process by analyzing the changeof the total domain botrndaries LDB(#). Lr>n(Z) decreases as a power of time: t '(o >O). Theexponent (If becornes snaall with increasing the uauagnitude of the elastic effects.
