We theoretically investigate long-terun potentiation (LTP) in the hippocampus trsing a simplemodel of a neuron stinaulated by three different Linne-structured inpvrt signals (regtrlar, lVIarkov, and chaotic). The synaptic efficacy change is described taking into account both N-methylD-aspartate (NMDA) and non-N[VIDA receptors. The experimental results are successfully explained by our neuron model, and the remarkable fact that the chaotic stiuaauli in the nonsta-tionary regime produce the largest LTP is discussed.
