Fragmentation reaction cross sections at relativistic energies are investigated ttsing a phe-nornenological approach, Equations are obtained by a geometrical treattauent in the framexvorkof classical dynamics, in xvhich the ituapact parameter is introduced. A ntrmerical solution isobtained for the "Fe f"C system at 600 lVIeV/nucleon incident energy. It is shown that thepredicted 11121188 number distribution of ['raguaaents reproduces well the experitmental data. TlaeCoulomb energy term in the lIldSS fortntrla afl'ects the nuclide dependence of cross sections to afavorable direction.
