The optical conductivity in high T. Cu oxides is theoretically examined bydiagonalizing exactly the Hamiltonian of a Cu.O.. cluster and using the Kubo for-mula. We show how the optical conductivity caused by the charge transfer from Cuto O ions in the insulator is depressed and how the low-energy conductivity of theDrude type emerges when electron- and hole-carriers are introduced into the Cub.plane.thigh T.
