Nonlinear oscillation described by the equation, ,i-F-sin,v-l-(e.-F-e.cos,v),N=0, isconsidered. By applying Hori's general perturbation theory for non-canonicalsystem, a necessary condition for the existence of limit cycles is given in terms of e.and z., and analytical expressions for limit cycles are obtained up to the first order.The analytical approximate solutions arc compared with numerical solutions andsatisfactory agreement between them is observed.
