Magnetization measurements were carried out on ordered and disordered Fe-PtInvar alloys under high magnetic fields up to 18 T. Several anomalies were observedin the temperature variations of magnetization and high-field susceptibility 7,.. in theconcentration range where the structure is believed to be completely y phase. In theordered alloys, an anomalous reduction in z.. appears below the inflectiontemperature Tj as estimated to be 8015 K for 26.0 at% Pt-Fe. The magnetizationchanges anomalously also at the same temperature. In the disordered alloys, thereduced magnetization M./M. decreases more gradually against reduced temperatureT/ T. with increasing Fe content, while in the ordered alloys it decreases more quicklywith increasing Fe content in the same manner as in Fe-Ni Invar alloys. Theseanomalies might be ascribed to the premartensitic transformation.
