The dielectric properties and the phase transition of ice Ih were investigated onRb0H-doped polycrystalline ice. Observed dielectric dispersions were roughly decom-posed into two Debye type dispersion branches. The low frequency branch wasresponsible to the temperature dependence of the dielectric properties and the phasetransition. The relaxation time of RbOH-doped ice was about 15 times longer thanthat of KOH-doped ice, but the activation energy did not alter. The temperature ofthe phase transition was almost the same as that of KOH-doped ice. Species of thealkali ion was effective to the dielectric relaxation but not to the phase transition tem-perature. This shows that observed phase transition is the intrinsic one of the icecrystal. The role of OH and alkali ion on the dielectric relaxation and some naturesof this phase transition are discussed.
