Magnetohydrodynamic Equilibrium Comfiguration by Body-Fitted Curvilinear Coordinate System : Application to Spheromak

A method for automatic numerical generation of a body-fitted curvilinearcoordinate system is applied to the determination of the magnetohydrodynamicequilibrium configuration. The region of a complex shape in the physical plane ismapped onto a square region and the Grad-Shafranov equation is solved in thissquare region with a rectangular mesh. Several results for the equilibrium con-figurations of the spheromak plasmas in flux conservers are shown as examples.As the flux conservers, the oblate spheroid and the drum type are considered.
