Axisymmetric slow viscous flow due to the on-axis translation of two equalcoaxial disks is investigated on the basis of the Stokes approximation. A formalexpression for the flow field is obtained by sloving a mixed boundary valueproblem. The drag on the disk is expressed in power series of the ratio of theradius to the distance between the disks. Analysis and improvement of series forthe dran are carried out. rtte QSymptotic behavior or the ctrag is estimatea, whentwo disks are nearly piled up.
