Turbulent flow in a straight rectangular chanrtel is numerically studied byusing Large Eddy Simulation. Cyclic boundary cc>nditions are imposed on thevelocity and pressure in the downstream and spanwise directions, while the no-slip boundary condition is imposed on the walls. Both the Smagorinsky modeland One-equation modeling are applied, and frorn a comparison between thecomputed results, the importance of the diffusion {.erm in SGS turbulent energybalance is pointed out.
