It is shown that the Burgers-F[opf(BH) hierarchy consisting ol' all the n-th BH equa-tions is a subhierarchy of the KP hierarchy in the Sato theory. If is also shown that thetotality of solutions of the BH hierarchy forms art infinite dimensional projectivespace. Since each of the equations of the BIT hierarchy possesses the generalizedPainleve property defined by S. Oishi and the author, this result supports their conjec-ture that the generalized Painleve property has a connection with the Sato theory.
