A basic 2 x 2-matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem is studied and its completeconnection to the associated eigenvalue problem is made clear. A potential formulaindependent on the spectral parameter 2 is derived by considering a transformationcontributed from the continuous data. As a by-product we get a mapping fromthe variation of scattering data to the one of potentials.
