In current sustaining tokamak by use of Landau damping, resonant particlesfeel an effective DC field in the toroidal direction to drive the plasma current, and still the rf field reaches thousand times larger than the joule field due to thequasi-linear effect. The time evolution of the density and current profile have beensimulated using one dimensional tokamak code including the current drive pinchterm due to the inward E, x Bg drift. This effect could be the basis of the lm-provement of the confinement and the impurity control by the rf travelling wave.
