Tlte spin-orbit splittings are calculated for the proton single-particle resonancesin "Nb, "'Sb and "'Bi nuclei. Many sets of spin-orbit partners with narrowwidths are obtained in these nuclei. It is suggested that the proton single-particleresonances provide a useful tool of studying the origin of the spin-orbit coupling.
