The equivalent width of a single line with a super-Lorentz line shape has beenexpressed in terms of a function Lax, r7) which redtuces to the Ladenburg-Reichefunction for the special case of 77=2. Some values of the function Lax, t7) havebeen tabulated. Band absorption by the spectral Ii'rtes with a super-Lorentz lineshape has also been calculated from the random model with 8 constant distribu-lion of line intensities.
