Search for the Second Excited 11/2^- State and Weak-Coupling Schema in ^<117>Sn

The second excited 11/2 state in "'Sn has been searched for by four differentsingle-neutron transfer reactions, (d, t), (p, d), (d, p) and ('He, r:x). The state hasbeen found at f..=l.589 MeV, very near to the 13/2 and 15/2- states observedin an in-beam 7-ray study. These very closely degenerate states are possible tlu"eemembers of the quintet of the weak-coupling scheme [h..,. >< 2"] in this nucleus.NUCLEAR REACTIONS "'So('He, a), (d, t), (p, d), "'Sn(d, p), Ae..=60, 82 MeV, A.=33 MeV, f.=30 MeV; measured a(0); deduced J'; two-step DWBA analysis.
