The velocity field around a solid sphere, performing harmonic oscillations inan unbounded viscous fluid otherwise at rest, is exactly determined to the secondorder for small values of the Reynolds number. The streamline pattern of thesteady streaming and the resultant instantaneous streamlines of the completeflow are shown. The drag exerted on the surface of the sphere is also evaluated.
