ESR Observation of Coexistence of Paraelectric and Ferroelectric Phases en DKDP

The ESR spectrum of Se0] - radicals doped in the DKDP single crystal hasbeen found to behave near T. in a marmer quite different frorn those of Se0]= inKDP and Cr" in DKDP. The spectrum consists of two kinds of signals fromparaelectric and ferroelectric phases of the crystal in a narrow temperature rangearound T.. The range is estimated to be about 4 IC. Above this range, only highsymmetric paraelectric spectrum can be observed and the low symmetric fer-roelectric one does not survive in contrast with the results on the KDP: Se0]=and DKDP : Cr" previously reported.
