An exact solution of the unvsteady Navier-Stokes equation is given, whichrepresents viscous flow impinging obliquely on an infinite flat plate oscillatingin its own plane. The flow field is analyzed iut two coordinate systems, one beingfixed in space and the other moving with the oscillatiucg plate, The result expressedin terms of moving coordinate system provides useful information about thestructure of the periodic stagnation-point flow.
