• By using a high resolution molecular beam scattering apparatus the total crosssections of Na in collision with CO, NO, CO., C.H. and CH. have been measured.All the necessary corrections to the experimental data have been applied. Theexperimental data have been compared with the 1:heoretical values obtained byusing Massey-Mohr expression and Slater-Kirkvvood and London dispersionformulae for dispersion forces. It is seen that the agreement between the expert-mental and theoretical total cross sections is Fairly good for the complicatedcollision partners like CO., C.H2 and CH..
