In order to find a special l'eature of the crystalline structure in Fe-Ni Invaralloys, magnetic measurements and X-ray analysis were ntade after annealingthe alloys in the two-phase (a-1-7) region for ten thousand hours or more. It hasbeen found that variotts transitional structures toward the a-phase arc formedbefore the diffusion of concentration takes place, and the structures are stable ina wide temperature range from liquid nitrogen temperature up to near the nneltingpoint. This suggests that well-annealed Invar alloys also contain transitionalstructure in the form of small nuclei.
