An experiment has been made on the nuclear resonant scattering from naturaltin using thermal-neutron-capture y rays in natural lead. Inaprovements havebeen made on both the equipment and methods of measurement in the spec-trometer system. The results obtained are as follows; ]) the isotope responsiblefor the resonance is found to be "'Sn, 2) resonance occurs at 6729.8-keV 7 raysfrom "'Pb(n, 7), 3) the spin of the level is assigned as 1, 4) the ground-statetransition width fo is O.03i0.0] eV with a branchins ratio 7< of 0.88:l-0.08and 5) the effective absorption cross section (o..,) is 0.48 .!0.05 b and the separa-tion (5 between the energies of the incident line and the resonance level is 1.01-0.3eV.NUCLEAR REACTION "'Sn(7, 7'), E,=6730 keV; measured resonantfluorescence, or(E , 0). "'Sn deduced levels, J, T. Natural target, Ge(Li)detector.
