A model for the photodissociation of H.0 is developed and is used to predictthe rotational angular momentum' distribution of 0H'. The model is based onan assumption that the dissociation is a simple recoil process between a rigidrotator OFT' and an H atom. The calculated distribution in the vibrational stateof OH'(t;'=0) is qualitatively in good agreement with an experimental result. This gives further support to the speculation that after the electronic excitationthe H.0 molecule decomposes into a recoiling H atom and an abnormallyrotating OH' radical. In the case of r'=l, the vibrational state of the H-011system is found to be stable, and could be a semibound state.
