The electrostatic ion stoppering in a magnetic mirror field is demonstrated experu-mentally in rather high plasma density (10"<o.$10"cm '). The ion loss from themirror throat expressed by a loss factor<5, is reduced to about one quarter of the initialvalue.It is discussed as a confinement mechanism of Tons that particles arc reflectedback adiabatically by the electrostatic field at the mirror throats of the magnetic field.
