The optical constants of TICI-'FlBr mixed crystals are determincd in the region of 2.8to 6.0 eV from the measuremeuats of normal incidence reflectivity as well as refractiveundex at helium temperatttre. As the composition changes, the lowest direct excitonpeak shifts continuously with downward bending, while both the second and the thirdabsorption peaks do not continue from TICI to TlBr. The fourth peak is found to shiftsmoothly, but with upward bending. These phenomerua are explained in relation to theband structures and the theory of electronic states of mixed system developed byOnodera and Toyozawa.
