Study of Reaction K^- +р→∧+η near Threshold

The cross section for the reaction K fp+,4-l-j was measured as a function of theincident K momentum in the vicinity of the reaction th?'eshold. The excitationfunction for this reaction including earlier data confirms the existence of A (1670) witha mass and width of 1668 MeV/c' and 15 MeV/c' decaying into Av7 with x..x.,=0.040.In addition, the behavior of the excitation function as well as the A angular distri-butions and polarization strongly suggest the existence of A (1690) with a mass andwidth of 1680 MeV/c' and 10 MeV/c' decaying into Aq with x..x.,=0.025.
