• The absorption spectra of AgHf, AgTa and AgPt have been measured for the photonenergies between 0.55 eV to 5.'75 eV using thin films prepared by the simultaneousevaporation method. Absorption bands due to the presence of the virtual bound statesare observed. The data for AgHf and AgTa are examined in terms of the FruedelAnderson model. The experimental results are not consistent with the model.
