The "Pad, a)"Si reaction has been studied in the deuteron emnergy range from 2.0 to3.0 MeV. The excitation functions and angular distributions are obtained for the alpha-groups leading to the seven lowest states of "St. The relative integrated cross sectionsand the differential cross sections of the excitations at 140' averaged over the incidentenergies both agree well with tltose predicted by the Ilauser-Feshbach theory, which isconcluded to be more preferable than the 21-Y- 1 rule. The spin cut-off parameter valuefor the reaction is determined to be o"= 9. The averaged differential cross sections forthe "Pad, p)"P reaction are also obtained and compared with the 2IA- l rule and theHauser-Feshbach theory.
