The second moments of Tm" and Pr" in Van Vleck paramagnets Tm.Y, Pr.X'(J=N,P,As,Sb,Bi) have been studied based on the theory developed byMcMil1an and Opechowski. The results have revealed that the temperature de-pendence of the second moments of the EPR in the excited states Fg, f',"(Tm' "),f5(Pr") are strong at temperatures lower than the energy between the singletground-state 13 and the first excited-state Tg for both Tm" and Pr". The secondmoments of Tg increase with decreasing temperature and those of 15, F':' vanishat low temperatures. The second moments of the fluctuation spectra at zero-frequency, which affect the impurity EPR and host NMR, are also investigated.
