The simple general expression for Anderson-Grüneisen parameter $\delta$ has been tested for three different forms of the overlap repulsion energy terms viz. Varshni-Shukla, Lennard-Jones (12:6) and Mie-Grüneisen potentials. The results obtained for three potential models have been compared with the experimental as well as with other theoretical results. The present results are in good agreement with the experimental ones. The dependence of $\delta$ on $r$ (interionic distance) has been discussed in detail. It is inferred that dependence of $\delta$ on $r$ for the Mie-Grüneisen model be well represented by a equation of second degree parabola of the form $\delta{=}A_{1}+B_{1}r+C_{1}r^{2}$, where $A_{1}$, $B_{1}$ and $C_{1}$ are arbitrary constants which depend on the potential model chosen and vary from crystal to crystal. This equation is in conformity with the ($\delta_{\text{expt.}}$, $r_{\text{expt.}}$) plot also.
