The dielectric dispersion and nuclear magnetic relaxation of glycerol-water andglycerol-deuterium oxide mixtures have been measured in the range from room fernperature to liquid nitrogen ternperature. The Cole-Cole plots of both glycerol-waterand glycerol-deuterium oxide mixtures can be well represented by the Williams-Waftsdescription. The parameter p appearing in the description becomes a definite valuewith approaching the glass transition temperature 17.. The temjcerature dependence ofthe relaxation time for both glycerol-water and glycerol-deuterium oxide mixtures canbe well represented by the Vogel-Tamman-Fulcher law. Both the parameters, B andT., appearing in the relation decreases with decreasing contents of glycerol, but B/ T.remains constant. These results are discussed by the idea of hierarchically constraineddynamics proposed by Palmer et at.Idielectric dispersion, nuclear magnetic relaxation, glass trar-rsition, glycerol-wa- ll ter and glycerol-deuterium oxide mixturesl
