Ultrasonic absorption measurements have been conducted in heavy water-dioxane mixtures over the entire composition range at six different frequencies in the range 30-100 Mc/s and at 25℃, using pulse technique. The nature of the α/f^2 versus X_<HW> (mole fraction of heavy water) curve is found to be quite similar to that observed for water-dioxane mixtures. The results have been analysed in terms of a two-relaxation mechanism proposed by Hammes and Knoche.
