The pattern formation of silver electrodeposits was investigated in magnetic fields in connection with the diffusion-limited-aggregation (DLA) perturbed by rotating convection. The electrolysis was performed in a thin-layer solution with a three-electrode system, and the in situ ac impedance was measured simultaneously in order to examine the rate-determining step. It was found that the magnetic field changes a dendritic growth pattern into the DLA-like one with the change of the rate-deter-mining step.
