^1H NMR Studies on the Phase Transition of Ferroelectric Ca_2Sr(CH_3CH_2COO)_6 and Its Doped Crystals with HCF_2COO^- Ions

Proton spin-lattice relaxation time T_1 in Ca_2Sr (C_2H_5COO)_6(DSP) and Ca_2Sr(C_2H_5COO)_<6(1-x)>(HCF_2COO)_<6x>(6x=0.02, 0.24, 0.65, and 0.89)(HCF_2-DSP) was measured at several Larmor frequencies over the temperature range from 90 K to 415 K. T_1 is calculated theoretically considering the reorientations of all methyl groups and three propionate anions. For the reorientation of those propionate an-ions, the potential wells were assumed to be unequal at T<T_<tr> and to be equal at T≧T_<tr>. We estimate the energy difference (E_d) for the unequal potential wells at T<T_<tr>. The T_1 anomaly estimated from the change of the potential wells is very small and the critical slowing down is necessary to explain the experimental T_1 dip. With increasing HCF_2COO^- content, the T_1 dip appeared at lower temperatures and became unclear. These results are discussed.
