• The effect of absorption on the electron eiffraction is studied by introducing the imaginary potential into the Schrodinger equation. The interpretation of anomalies in the lower order reflections carried out in Part 2, is made more complete by considering the absorption. Finally, the several problems as to the lower order reflections are discussed.
