The influence of transverse magnetic field on the laminar radial flow of an incompressible fluid between two closely spaced parallel plates has been analysed. The governing equations and boundary conditions are established, and a solution is obtained by perturbing the creeping-flow solution and making use of asymptotic expansion. The extent of the effect of magnetic field on the flow is determined by the magnitude of the Hartmann number, M. Numerical results for the pressure distribution are presented graphically. When M=0, the solution reduces to that obtained by Savage.
