An infinite elastic medium, having a circular insert, is under plane harmonic temperature distribution with common interface insulated, so as not to change the temperature of the insert. Medium would go to certain prescribed deformation if the insert were absent. Presence of insert develops stress field both in matrix and the insert. The point force method has been employed. The explicit solution of the problem has been obtained by complex variable techniques.
