The magnetic properties and cation distributions of ferrite-chromite series of nickle and cobalt are investigated. Although the magnetic moments at absolute zero temperature are well explained by simple Neel model as far as the series remain inverse spinel structure, they begin to deviate significantly from the values evaluated by his model when they change to normal spinel. The possible origin of this anomalous magnetic moment of the series is discussed.
