An simplified expression for the orbit-orbit interactions in terms of scalar products of tensor operators is derived for l^n configurations by use of the method of Racah. Main contribution of the interactions is given in the form -βL(L+1), βbeing a positive constant. Analyses are made for 4p^2 and 5p^4 configurations of GeI, AsII and TeI by taking the effects of the orbit-orbit interactions into account. The agreement between theoretical and experimental values of terms are satisfactory for GeI and ASII.
