For the purpose of getting an idea of the relation between the Minkowski and isobaric spaces an extention of the conventional Lorentz group is investigated. A particular attention is paid on the structure of the complex Lorentz group proposed by Barut. It is shown explicitly that the maximum compact group contained in the non-compact group is the unitary group U(3). Keeping the same invariant, the complex Lorentz group is widened so as to obtain the generalized Dirac equation, where the Clifford algebra C_8 is utilized. By making use of an adequate representation of the C_8 the compatibility of the conventional space-time transformation and the isobaric one in our framework is discussed.
