Cohesive energy of solid helium for both isotopes at absolute temperature zero is computed by a new self-consistent method. The method contains no adjustable parameters. The calculated (experimental) value of cohesive energy at melting volume in unit of calorie per mole is -1.30 (-1.14) for helium three and -10.44 (-11.87) for helium four.
